MONROE - This week's Associated Press rankings of the WIAA prep basketball teams remained the same for local teams.
Black Hawk (21-0), the Six Rivers East champion, was once again the unanimous No. 1 team in the girls Division 5 rankings. The Six Rivers West had two teams receive votes. Shullsburg (16-5) came in at No. 10, and Potosi was honorable mention with five votes.
Monroe (19-2), the Badger South champion, remained fourth in the girls Division 2 poll. Defending state champion and Badger North champion Beaver Dam (18-2) is again No. 1, Seymour (19-1) is No. 2, and Milwaukee Vincent (19-1) is third. The Badger South's Stoughton (17-4) is tied for 10th with Jefferson (17-4) of the Rock Valley. Reedsburg of the Badger North also received votes.
In boys basketball, New Glarus (19-0) received 8 out of 10 first place votes and is the No. 1 team in Division 4. Defending champion Destiny (14-2) is second.
Pecatonica (13-6) , currently in first place in the Six Rivers East standings, received one vote in Division 5, in which Columbus Catholic (16-2) is the top team.
