Ponies, Warriors cruise to victories

ARGYLE - Barneveld continues to roll through Six Rivers East Conference play.

The Golden Eagles swept three games from Argyle Tuesday night, 25-15, 25-18, 25-16.

"Barneveld played well and we beat ourselves," Argyle coach Shelby Rideout said. "We struggled at service receive, defense and passing. The hitters were not attacking like they usually do at the net."

Argyle sophomore Jenna Langmeier had five kills and 15 digs. Senior Kayla Ostby racked up 15 assists and three aces. Kim Pink also notched five kills.

Barneveld was led by Samantha Evans who had 10 kills. Danielle Staubhaar had 11 assists and Rachel Slaney added three blocks.

With the loss, Argyle drops to (8-12, 4-4 Six Rivers East). Barneveld has a two-game lead over Monticello in the conference and the Eagles will host the Ponies on Thursday.

Monticello 3, Juda 0

JUDA - The Juda volleyball team had a tough time receiving and fell to Monticello Tuesday night 25-13, 25-17, 25-16.

Monticello featured four players with seven or more kills. Junior Marissa Berg had 10, senior Jordyn Kubly had eight, and sophomores Alyssah Kubly and Paige Dilley each had seven. Junior Clare Bruns led the way in assists with 27.

Juda senior Brittany Moe led the Panthers in kills with seven, junior Jessica Jordan had two blocks, senior Cassie Benner had 24 digs, and junior Tabatha Davis led the way in assists with 15.

Black Hawk 3, Pec 0

SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk junior Jen Wellnitz had a dominating match at the net to lead the Warriors to a conference win over the Vikings.

Wellnitz had 17 kills and four blocks to power the Warriors. Black Hawk senior Kelly Neuenschwander finished with eight assists. Sophomore Alexis Warrell and junior Nicole Diehl each had two aces.

Pecatonica was led by senior Lizzy Britt who notched six kills. Senior Michelle Francois had 10 assists. Erin Kleppe and Emily Gruenfelder each had two aces and Julia Meyer had two blocks.
