Pitching key for U14 team

MADISON - Monroe's U-14 Girls Fastpitch team finished their summer schedule with a second place finish at the Crush Class Aug. 10 through Aug. 12.

The girls played The Mad City Crush in the championship game but was defeated 9-2. The Challengers went 5-1 during the competition.

With a final record of 39-13-1, the team posted two league championships, South Central Fastpitch League U-14 and Sunday Night White League. The Challengers entered seven U-14 tournaments, in which they posted one championship four second-place finishes, one third-place and one 4th place.

Natalie Dillon led the way in pitching, going 24-8-1, followed by Kady Jordan with an 8-3 mark.

Kaya Teasdale went 4-1 and Carly Upmann was 1-1.
