PeeWee A team gets two wins

The Avalanche PeeWee A team had a busy weekend playing four games.

On Friday, the Avalanche traveled to Dodgeville and defeated the Ice Wolves 9-1. Scoring were Tessa Janecke (five goals), Hayden Roth (two goals), Alyssa Knauf and Sarah Edler. Earning assists were Rob Schroeder (two assists), Roth (two assists), Roman Bauer and Alvin Buholzer. The Avalanche outshot the Ice Wolves 43-15.

On Saturday, the Avalanche PeeWee A hosted the Dubuque Jr. Saints A team and tied 5-5. Tessa Janecke opened the game with a goal on a pass from Blaze Janecke. The Saints responded with two goals in the first period. Bauer scored a goal on an assist by Tessa Janecke in the second period. The Saints added two more goals. The Avalanche came out strong in the third period scoring three straight goals from Knauf, on a pass from Tessa Janecke, and two goals from Buholzer on assists by Tessa Janecke, Roth and Bauer. Goaltender Jack Leverton had 19 saves.

On Sunday afternoon, the Avalanche PeeWee A headed to McFarland and tied 4-4. Knauf, Alvin Buholzer, Roth and Tessa Janecke scored. Leverton recorded 23 saves.

On Sunday, the PeeWee A team rolled past the Polar Caps A team 10-2.



Bantam A

The Avalanche Bantam A team played three games this past weekend.

On Friday, they traveled to Dodgeville to take on the Ice Wolves and won 6-1. Scoring were Hayden Roth, Anika Einbeck, Travis Edmunds (two), Cade Janecke and Luke Kuberski. Earning assists were Tessa Janecke, Roth (two), Cade Janecke (two), and Luke Kuberski. The Avalanche outshot the Ice Wolves 69-15.

Saturday's game took the Avalanche Bantam A to Patriots A's home ice and lost 7-4. The Patriots got an early 2-0 lead until Einbeck fed Cade Janecke a pass where he was able to score. The second period was a back-and-forth battle with each team putting one on the scoreboard with the Avalanche goal from Tessa Janecke on assists by Einbeck and Roth. The Avalanche responded in the third period with a goal from Tessa Janecke on a pass from Knauf and a goal from Edmunds assisted by Payton Stauffacher. Goaltender Heath Bear had 30 saves.

On Sunday, the Avalanche Bantam A hosted West Madison Polar Caps B and lost 3-2.
