Pec, Albany get Six Rivers wins

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Pecatonica Vikings swept the Juda Panthers in three games, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22, Thursday.

Senior Cassie Swenson put down six kills and junior Ellie Gifford dished out 11 assists in the win for the Vikings. Senior Elizabeth Ihm had three blocks and senior outside hitter Kimee Chandler lead Pecatonica with 10 digs.

Pecatonica improves to 3-2 in the Six Rivers East and will travel to Argyle while Juda travels to Black Hawk Tuesday.

Albany 3, Argyle 0

ARGYLE - The Albany Comets swept the Argyle Orioles 25-21, 25-8, 25-15, behind junior Sydney Bump who had 18 kills and two blocks and junior Hillary Best who had 16 digs and four aces.

Junior Courtney Pfeuti helped her teammates with 16 assists and junior Kaitlyn Schulz chipped in with two blocks to lead the Comets.

Argyle was led by Cassie Welch with four kills, Stephanie Cuevas with six assists, Kelsey Bartels with three blocks, and Lindsay Flanagan with nine digs.

Albany travels to Barneveld while Argyle (2-3 in the Six Rivers East, 5-7 overall) hosts Pecatonica,Tuesday.

Brodhead 3,

Clinton 1

CLINTON - After dropping game one, the Brodhead Cardinals recovered and defeated the Clinton Cougars 21-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-23 in Rock Valley South Conference action Thursday.

Senior Dana Lewis paced the Cardinals with sevens kills and freshman Amanda Pickel delivered 11 assists to lead the way.

The Cardinals will compete in the Edgerton Invitational Saturday before heading back into conference action at Orfordville Parkview, Tuesday.

Mineral Point 3, Darlington 1

MINERAL POINT - The Redbirds got seven kills from junior Elizabeth Mathias, and seven assists from seniors Whitney Hardyman and Paige Champion, but still fell in four games to the Pointers, 25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 25-15, in SWAL Conference action Thursday.

The Redbirds will next face perennial Division 3 power and defending conference champion Cuba City on the road, Tuesday.
