Parrent nets hat trick

MCFARLAND - Monroe Avalanche senior T.J. Parrent had a hat trick as the Monroe boys hockey co-op lost 11-5 to McFarland Friday night.

Parrent scored three goals and now has five goals in his last two games. The Avalanche also got goals from Jake Trickel of Monroe and Jarrett Warden of Parkview.

Trickel scored the first goal 6 minutes into the game and Parrent later scored a goal to tie the game at 2 at the end of the first period.

Parrent scored two goals in the second period and Warden scored a goal to cut McFarland's lead to 8-5. McFarland scored three goals in the third period.

"My guys go out hard to play every game," Monroe coach Nate Brown said. "Tonight, they showed they will go far and above in class and the way they conduct themselves. My team never gives up. It's a testament to how hard they are working."

Monroe goalie Jesse Scheider had 28 saves.

The Monroe Avalanche (0-5) will look to pick up their first win when they play at Baraboo-Portage Dec. 20.
