Panthers pound out sweep of Cheese

MONROE - Oregon slugged their way to a 10-2 win over Monroe Friday night.

Oregon starter Matt Webber limited the Cheesemakers to six hits. The Cheesemakers were led by junior Josh Popanz who was 2-for-3.

Monroe junior Mike Rear pitched four innings and gave up five earned runs on seven hits.

"We were somewhat lifeless today, I don't know if it was the emotional strain from Thursday's extra-inning game or the grind of playing three games in four days," Monroe coach Steve Christensen said.

With the loss Monroe drops to (3-9 2-8 Badger South).

Oregon was led by Skyler Debilzen who was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Monroe will host Orangeville today at noon.
