ARGYLE - Senior Riley Ostby had two hits and three RBI to lead the Argyle baseball team to a 17-7 six-inning win over Black Hawk in the regular season finale on Tuesday.
Black Hawk scored two runs in the first inning off Argyle's Mitch Flannery to jump out to an early lead. Argyle (14-10, 10-6 Six Rivers East) scored two runs in the bottom of the first to tie the game at 2. The Orioles had a five-run second to open up a 7-2 lead.
Black Hawk sophomore Jett Rufenacht had two hits and three RBI to lead the Warriors. The Warriors rallied with two runs in the fourth to cut the Orioles' lead to 7-6. Argyle sealed the win with five runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Both Argyle's sophomore Brent Ritschard and Flannery each walked three times. Black Hawk sophomore Brody Milz had two RBI.
Flannery pitched four innings and gave up six runs and struck out three to get the win. With the win, Argyle locked up second place in the Six Rivers East Conference behind champion and No. 1-ranked Pecatonica.
