POYNETTE - After a rough 0-4 start at the Monroe Invitational Saturday, the New Glarus volleyball team bounced back in a big way, hitting the road and defeating Poynette Tuesday.
New Glarus volleyball coach Casey Boatman said the turnaround win came at a good time in terms of building confidence.
"It was good," Boatman said. "(The competition) was definitely a lot higher last Saturday. It was a good team to come back and play. The girls played hard."

Junior Rachel Tyler led the team in kills with 7, senior Alaina Legler put up 18 assists, and senior Annie Jones notched a block. Jones and Karina Moen tied for the team lead in aces with three each.
"They came in and got off to a quick start, and as soon as it started rolling the confidence went up and they put it together fast," Boatman said of his squad. "It was nice to see, this early in the season."
The Knights will open up Capitol South play Thursday as they host Waterloo at 6:30 p.m. The Pirates will serve as another tough test in this yet-early season.
"Waterloo is probably the best team in the conference this year," Boatman said. "We're hoping to have enough confidence after this win tonight. It'll be nice to see where we're at in the conference come Thursday."
