OREGON - In playing their Badger South rivals, the Monroe tennis team struggled with the windy conditions and mental miscues throughout their singles and doubles matches against the host Panthers.
"As a team, our footwork and shot selection were not great," Cheesemakers coach Brad Saugstad said. "(But) what really hurt us was our mental lapses."
The lone victory for Monroe came by freshman number four singles Silas Setterstrom, who despite trailing 3-0 in each of his early sets, came back to win 6-4 and 7-6 (5) over Oregon's Nate Ironmonger.
"He (Setterstrom) isn't beating himself," Saugstad said. "He is keeping the ball in play from baseline and can end points at the net."
