BELLEVILLE - With the regular season coming to a close, top-ranked New Glarus rolled to a 77-47 win over Belleville.
The Glarner Knights (21-0, 10-0 Capitol South) are the top ranked team in Division 4 according to the Associated Press. Jaden Kreklow scored a team-high 20 for New Glarus on Friday, while Zach Feller had 17, Cullen Brooks 15 and Dishawn Gale 8.
Austin Fahey led Belleville (8-14, 2-8) with 11 points. The score was 27-15 at the half, in favor of New Glarus.
The Knights have one final game on their schedule - a Feb. 22 home game against Poynette. The Knights will likely receive a No. 1 seed in the WIAA playoff bracket, due out this weekend.
Monticello 35, Argyle 30
ARGYLE - The Ponies outscored the Orioles 21-16 in the second half as scoring came at a premium.
Reece Rufer led all players with 15 points and Jon Errthum added 10 for Monticello (7-12, 4-6 Six Rivers East). Brent Ritschard led Argyle (6-14, 0-10) with 11 and Miken Godfrey scored 8.
The victory was win No. 100 in 9 years for Monticello head coach Mark Olson.
In other area action, Pecatonica (15-6, 11-0) defeated Albany (2-10, 6-15) 76-61; Black Hawk (14-6) beat Belmont 76-33; Barneveld topped Juda 70-56; and in the SWAL, Darlington (14-7, 9-4) knocked off Southwestern (10-11, 6-7) by a score of 59-48.
