NEW GLARUS - There were 10 New Glarus-Monticello football players who received first or second-team Capitol South All-Conference honors recently.
New Glarus senior Jesse Tetner was named the Capitol South co-Offensive Linemen of the Year along with Belleville's Danny Enloe. Tetner was named first-team all-conference as both an offensive and defensive lineman.
Junior Zach Feller was named first-team all-conference at running back and Cullen Brooks received the honor at wide receiver. Feller rushed for 445 yards and five touchdowns in five games. He averaged 89 rushing yards in the five games he was limited to due to injury. Brooks was the top receiver for the Knights with 18 receptions for 274 yards and seven touchdowns.
Junior linebacker Patrick Craker was the other player for the Knights who was named first-team all-conference. Belleville's Drew Shrader was named the conference's defensive player of the year and defensive linemen of the year.
New Glarus-Monticello senior Tanner Jelle was named second-team all-conference at fullback. The other second-team all-conference selections for the Knights included senior offensive lineman Jonah Thompson, freshman defensive back Nathan Streiff, senior linebacker Wyatt Taylor, junior defensive lineman Adam Marty and junior kicker Trent Sigafus.
Senior quarterback Jared Carney and senior linebacker Jon Errthum were named honorable mention all-conference for the Knights.
New Glarus-Monticello finished the regular season 6-3 and earned a Capitol South co-championship with Belleville and Cambridge. Prairie du Chien defeated the Knights 36-14 in a WIAA Division 5 first-round playoff game.
