EVANSVILLE - The New Glarus girls basketball team came into a rhythm in the second half Tuesday and knocked off Evansville 62-38 in a non-conference game.
"It was good," Glarner Knights head coach Megan Scheele said. "We started slow, but got into a groove."
New Glarus led 16-7 after the first quarter and 31-25 at halftime. A 19-9 run to open the third broke the game open and the Knights held Evansville to just two points in the fourth quarter.
"We worked well together and had balanced scoring," Scheele said.
Chelsea Holler led New Glarus with 19 points. Alycia Atwell had 12 points and both Anya Schween and Lauren Narveson scored 10. Narveson hit a pair of 3-pointers and Schween also hit a shot from beyond the arc.
The Knights (3-3) shot 21 of 26 from the free-throw line and recorded just 16 fouls.
Argyle was scheduled to play at Madison Abundant Life Monday, but the game was postponed to Jan. 11 due to inclement weather. Monticello's boys basketball game also scheduled to be at Highland was moved to Jan. 18.
