BENTON - The New Glarus Knights lost to Shullsburg 59-49 at the annual Mike Alexander Classic Monday.
Shulls-burg led 17-15 after the first quarter but New Glarus evened the score at 29 by halftime. A 14-7 run by the Miners left the Knights in a hole headed into the fourth quarter.
Senior Kirbe French led New Glarus with 14 points. Junior Tyler Kreklow hit three, 3-pointers and scored 13 points and senior Carlin Moen added 11 points on three 3s.
Pierce Russell led Shullsburg with 16 points.
New Glarus will return to Benton today and will take on Southwestern in the consolation game.
