Mount Horeb blanks Cheesemaker soccer team

MOUNT HOREB - A short-handed Monroe team lost 6-0 to Mount Horeb in a non-conference game Saturday, May 18.

"They were really strong, physical and aggressive," Monroe coach Miriam O'Neill said of Mount Horeb. "We played pretty good in the first 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we are still suffering with some injuries. In the second half, we really got run down."

It's the sixth time the Cheesemakers have been shut out this season. Monroe (1-9-2, 1-4-1 Badger South) has scored just one goal in the last five and a half games.

Sugar River 2, Fon du Lac 0

Sugar River 0, Aquinas 0

FON DU LAC - Sugar River junior Sierra Watrud scored two goals to propel the Raiders to a 2-0 win over Fon du Lac Saturday, May 18.

Sugar River goalkeeper Karina Moen had 14 saves. The Raiders also played La Crosse Aquinas to a scoreless tie. With the win, Sugar River improves to 12-3-1, 5-1 Capitol South. The Raiders trail Lodi and Lake Mills by one game with two conference games to play.
