MONTICELLO - Monticello pitchers Lukas Kolasch and Corey McGowan combined only gave up five hits in a doubleheader sweep of Argyle, 11-6 and 12-8, on Thursday.

"It's good to get two conference wins," Monticello coach Jason Pinnow said, after the Ponies committed five errors in the second game of the twin bill. "I wish it could have been cleaner. To give up that many runs on five hits, we obviously have a lot of work to do in the field."

Kolasch pitched 5 2/3 innings in the first game and gave up four earned runs on two hits. He struck out eight and walked six. With the doubleheader sweep, the Ponies improve to 10-7, overall and 8-3 in the Six Rivers East.
