MONROE - The Monroe Youth Hockey Association announced that all five teams within its organization have earned a berth to the WAHA state hockey tournament that will take place next month.
Never before has every team from every level made it to the state tournament in the same year, according to the press release.
Tournament play will begin the weekend of March 4, with the Avalanche Bantam A team traveling to Rhinelander to face off with the Oshkosh Warbirds. The Squirt A team is headed for Black River Falls and will go head to head with the Spartans of Somerset. The Squirt B team will go to Baldwin and take on the Comets of Waupaca.
The next weekend, on March 10, the PeeWee A team will make the trek to Amery to play the Waupaca Comets, while their counterparts, the PeeWee B team, will journey to Waupaca to face the Black River Falls Tigers in the first round.
