MONROE - Monroe High School freshman point guard Sydney Hilliard was named Badger South first-team all-conference recently.
Hilliard was one of three Monroe girls basketball players honored. Hilliard averaged 15.1 points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game in leading the Cheesemakers to a 10-14 record.
Monroe senior Brooke Adams (6.3 ppg) and sophomore Sydney Mathiason (9 ppg) both received honorable mention.
Six of Monroe's losses came to teams that made a run to the WIAA state tournament, including Stoughton, the Division 2 state runner-up that beat the Cheesemakers three times. The Vikings had three first-team all-conference players - senior Hannah Hobson and juniors Marissa Robson and Payton Kahl.
