MONROE - Cody Boals held Dodgeville's offense in check as the Monroe Brewers picked up a 3-1 Home Talent League win Sunday.
Boals struck out 12 batters while scattering eight hits to pick up the complete-game victory.
Monroe (10-3) got on the board right away in the first inning. Justin Hahn walked and swiped second base and Lon Scheuerell singled in the run to make it 1-0. Scheuerell finished the game with two of Monroe's seven hits.
Dodgeville, which had five errors on defense, tied the score in the third, but the Brewers added an unearned run in both the sixth and seventh innings for the game's final runs.
