CAMBRIDGE - Monroe freshman Brynn Ritschard scored two goals and helped the Cheesemakers come back to tie Cambridge-Deerfield 3-3 in a non-conference game Monday.
Cambridge jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Monroe junior Maddie Kallgren put the Cheesemakers on the board scoring a goal on an assist from Ritschard at 43 minutes, 21 seconds.
"I think they did a tremendous job," Monroe coach Miriam O'Neill said. "It's difficult to come back from being down two goals. I think with a little more time they could have scored again."
The Cheesemakers scored two goals in the second half to complete the rally. Ritschard scored her first goal off a corner kick at 67:44. Werth scored a game-tying goal on a pass from freshman Olivia Werth at 80:45.
Monroe senior goalkeeper Gwendolyn Ambrose missed the game due to a concussion. Freshman Reily Pond played goalie and she had seven saves.
