MONROE - The Monroe sixth-grade boys basketball select team will host 11 other teams Saturday at the Cheesemakers Shootout at Monroe High School.

Games start at 9 a.m., and the championship games will be at 3:30 p.m.

The Monroe team plays at 9 a.m. against Sauk Prairie and 11 a.m. against Mukwonago. Its third opponent and time is to be determined.

Monroe has a 15-2 record and won tournaments in Stoughton, Kettle Moraine and Sun Prairie this season. It also placed second at Beaver Dam and Marshall.

The other teams participating are Appleton East, Darlington, Marshall, Milton, Monona Grove, Mukwonago, Muskego, Platteville, Sauk Prairie, Stoughton and Waunakee.

"Getting the quality of teams to come to Monroe is a compliment to the boys' talent on this Monroe team," Monroe coach Kevin Leuzinger said. "This tournament will be a great tune-up for boys, as they prepare to play the (Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament) in Green Bay in April."
