BELOIT - The Monroe High School volleyball team used strong serving to roll to a sweep of Beloit Turner in a nonconference match Tuesday.
Senior Sydney Mathiason had a team-high 12 kills and three blocks to lead the Cheesemakers to a 25-13, 25-21, 25-20 win over the Trojans. Freshman Zoee Pond had eight kills and four aces. Senior Payton Sigafus had a team-best five aces.
"Our serving was really on point," Monroe coach Heidi Witt said. "They played really well. The only times we struggled were when we had breakdowns communicating."
Monroe improves to 3-5 overall.
Senior Alysha Witt had a team-high 11 assists and scored seven straight points serving in the first set. Senior Alexis Allen added nine assists.
Senior Meredith Hose had a team-high five digs, and sophomore Cassi Gersbach notched two blocks.
