Monroe Mite teams skate past Sauk

The Monroe Mite A and B hockey teams traveled to Sauk Prairie on Saturday for two games. The Mite B beat Sauk Prairie B 6-2.

Payton Stauffacher lead the B team with a hat trick, while Riley Jones, Anika Einbeck, and Tessa Janecke had one goal a piece.

The Monroe Mite A then played Sauk Prairie A and Cade Janecke led the Monroe Mites with four goals. Joe Wyss had two goals, Emma Ness had one, and Travis Edmunds had one. The Mite A beat Sauk Prairie 8-3.

The Monroe Mite team then became Bucky's Mighty Mites and played an intersquad scrimmage in between periods at the UW women's hockey game at the Kohl Center on Saturday afternoon.

To finish the weekend, Monroe Mite A played Rockford Mite A. Monroe lost 10-2. Janecke scored two goals, while Heath Bear and Riley Jones each had an assist. Later on Sunday, the Mite B team played Janesville B. Janesville B won the game 8-1. Broc Kuberski scored the only goal for Monroe.
