Monroe Mat Rats take third

MONROE - The Monroe Mat Rats wrestled to a third-place finish at their home invitational Sunday.

The Mat Rats had five wrestlers medal at the kindergarten to second-grade division. The Mat Rats had 28 medalists including five champions. Jacob Lohmar, Brady Schuh, Max Haffele, Tristan Teasdale and Patrick Reilly each captured first-place medals.

Seven wrestlers took second place including Logan Blum, Braedon Malkow, Bodie Minder, Brock Hummel, Jared Stubbe, Max Peterson and Aidan Sweeney.

The Mat Rats had nine wrestlers finish in third place including Danye Garwell, Evan Guenther, Liam Hermanson, Colbin Mann, Luke Dubach, Dawson Stamm, Isabel Tadlock, Damon Tadlock, and Alex Witt.

The other kindergarten to second-grade wrestlers who took fourth place included Gannon Dunlavey, Autticah Symons, Caleb Bunker, Max Golembiewski, Erick Strommen, Jared Dillon, and Garret Grossen.

Nick Schumacher won a title in the third- and fourth-grade level. Colby Argall, Gabe Witt, Dempzy Foley, Drake Ingold, and Sam Kind each finished in second place.

Wyatt Heimann took third place and Jacob Brennan and Sam Hughes each finished fourth.

A trio of fifth- and sixth-graders won second place medals including Hayden Arneson, Cole Murray, and McKenzy Foley. Parker Ingold and Joel Faith each finished in third place at their respective weight classes. Thomas Rielly took fourth at the tournament.

In the seventh- and eighth-grade division, Troy Gorr won a championship. Terri Holmes and Eric Timm each captured third place medals. Brad Gilbert finished in fourth place.
