MONROE - Ten members of the Monroe softball received all-conference honors in the Badger South.
Five Cheesemakers were named to the first team. Senior pitcher Becca Armstrong was a unanimous selection. She was joined on the first team by junior catcher Chandra McGuire, junior infielders Kayla Updike and Ellie Grossen, and junior outfielder Taylor O'Leksy.
Junior Kirsten Vetterli was named to the second team as a utility player. Seniors Heather Barta, Briana Katzenberger, and Lauren Hendrickson, as well as junior Katie Holmes were named honorable mention.
The Cheesemakers (27-2) won the Badger South crown with a perfect 12-0 record in conference. They then won the Evansville sectional to earn the right to play at the state tournament. They will take on New London on Thursday, June 6 in the state semifinals.
