BELOIT - The Monroe boys golf team finished third place out of 20 teams at the Beloit Invitational Friday.
The Cheesemakers had two of the top five golfers and shot a 321, which was two shots behind Beloit Memorial and Kenosha Tremper (319).
"It's hard to be mad with hardware, but disappointed that we just missed first again by two strokes," Monroe coach Braden Rindy said.
Monroe sophomore Nick Baumann finished second place, shooting a 73 and senior Matt Miller took fifth, carding a 75. Baumann birdied five of the first 10 holes.
Monroe freshman Collyn Wilde shot an 84 and senior Eric Bush finished with an 89.
