STOUGHTON - The Monroe golf team finished third place out of 11 teams at the season-opening Stoughton Invitational Monday at the Stoughton Country Club.
McFarland edged Stoughton Purple 320-324 for the team title. The Cheesemakers took third with a 336.
Monroe sophomore Nick Baumann finished fourth overall with a 79. Monroe's Tanner Thompson took 10th (82) and senior Matt Miller was 11th (83).
The home opener for Monroe Tuesday against Fort Atkinson will have to be rescheduled after Fort Atkinson didn't show up.
