Monroe golf falls to Milton

MILTON - Small greens gave the Monroe High School boys golf team trouble in a 155-176 dual-match loss to Milton on Wednesday at the Oak Ridge Golf Course.

Monroe junior Collyn Wilde shot a 5-over-par 41 to lead the Cheesemakers. Freshman Conner Allen, sophomore Jack Rogerson and junior Joe Hauck each carded a 45.

"Everyone who is at home has the advantage because they always practice on their course," Monroe coach Braden Rindy said. "The greens were really small and edged off. We just didn't play well."

Monroe drops to 1-3 in the Badger South Conference. The Cheesemakers have two more conference matches in the regular season. Monroe will host Madison Edgewood on Monday at the Monroe Country Club and will play at Oregon on May 9.
