MONROE - The Monroe Mat Rat wrestlers traveled to Pec-Argyle and Iowa-Grant's Youth wrestling Tournaments last weekend.
The Mat Rats finished fourth as a team in Pec-Argyle. In the kindergarten through second grade bracket, first place went to Garrett Voegeli. Second place finishes went to Max Haffele and Jack Dubach. Four wrestlers finished in third place, including Evan Guenther, Logan Blum, Luke Dubach; and Dayne Garwell.
In the third and fourth grade brackets, Kyle Gilbertson took first and Patrick Rielly took third. In the fifth and sixth grade bracket, Cole Murray took second place and Traiten Gorr took second for seventh- and eighth- grade brackets.
Three wrestlers went to Iowa-Grant. In the fifth and sixth grade brackets, Sam Kind took second and Dempzy Foley took fourth. McKenzy Foley took second in the seventh and eighth grade brackets.
