ARGYLE - The Monroe Brewers, despite the rain, knocked off Argyle in a slugfest 12-9 for their second straight win in a Home Talent League Western Sectional clash Sunday, May 26. Monroe (2-3) scored four runs in the fifth inning and was able to hang on for the victory. Monroe's Ben Conway pitched 5 1/3 innings to get the win and Monroe player-manager Jeff Newcomer pitched 3 2/3 innings to get the save for the Brewers.
