MONROE - The fourth annual TC Monroe Basketball Alumni Tournament drew 12 teams, more than 100 players of various Monroe High School basketball grads spanning 30 years of MHS basketball.
The class of 2007 and 2008 won the championship for the second straight year. The runner-up was the class of 2011.
The annual tournament links the past, present and future of MHS basketball. The tournament also serves as a conduit to funding the boys' basketball program, which head basketball coach Pat Murphy is very grateful.
Murphy stated, "I want to express gratitude to all who sponsored the tournament, those who played and those who watch. "This is a fun event that keeps the MHS basketball tradition growing."
