DODGEVILLE - Monroe junior midfielder Belsazar Castellanos scored two goals to lift the Cheesemakers to a 4-0 win over Dodgeville Thursday.
Monroe (5-7-1, 1-2 Badger South) dominated the game from the start. Castellanos scored his first goal at 16 minutes, 32 seconds.
"He (Castellanos) has a very good left foot," Monroe coach Tony Stamm said. "That has been paying off for us."
Stamm said the win over Dodgeville was a big win because the Dodgers are in the same sectional as Monroe.
Monroe senior Kelli Isaj scored at 25:10 to give the Cheesemakers a 2-0 halftime lead.
Junior Cody Stamm scored on an assist from sophomore Corey Flannery at 44:10 to give the Cheesemakers a 3-0 lead. Castellanos capped the scoring with his second goal on an assist from senior Jens Wohlbier at 52:50.
Monroe senior goalkeeper Kramer Henning had nine saves.
"Our defense controlled the game," Stamm said. "It allowed our mids and forwards to push up."
