Mites tie twice; Girls end season

VERONA - On Saturday, the U12 Girls Avalanche Team played their final games of the season against the Ice Spirit U10A and U12B teams. Monroe lost both games, 4-0 and 3-0.

Jenna Schmerbach had 31 saves against the U10A's and Molly Gross had 38 saves against the U12B.

Mite B

SUN PRAIRIE - On Saturday, the Monroe Avalanche Mite B team faced-off against the Sun Prairie Mite B team, finishing in a 1-1 tie.

Sun Prairie opened the scoring in the first period to go ahead 1-0. Tessa Janecke tied the game at 1-1 with a breakaway score.

Joe Wyss had four saves in the contest. Sunday, the Mite B's turned around and played Beloit A in Monroe and lost, 7-1.

Broc Kuberski scored the only goal for Monroe. Joe Wyss recorded 26 saves.

Mite A

SUN PRAIRIE - The Monroe Avalanche Mite A team tied the Sun Prairie Mite A's last weekend, 4-4.

Monroe had an early 3-0 lead for two periods but Sun Prairie came back in the third period with four-straight goals to take the lead 4-3.

Then, with under one minute to play in the game, Monroe pulled its goalie for a one-man advantage and Joe Wyss put a rebound in the net to tie the game.

Cade Janecke led the Avalanche with two goals, Emma Ness and Joe Wyss each had one goal and one assist, while Travis Edmunds recorded one assist. Heath Bear had 16 saves in the contest.
