BARABOO - Eight Mite White teams from around the state participated in the annual Logan Klemm Memorial Tournament in Baraboo on Saturday and Sunday. For 12 of the Monroe Avalanche Mite players, it was their first full ice tournament.

The Avalanche began the tournament Saturday morning with a tough 9-0 loss to the Fox Valley Blades.

In the second game, the Avalanche defeated the Baraboo T-Birds, 2-1. Lily Brewer had two goals, with one assist from Blaze Janecke.

On Sunday morning, the Avalanche played for the consolation trophy against the Janesville J-Hawks. After a scoreless first period, Janecke opened the scoring in the second with an unassisted goal. Cash Anderson followed, on an assist from Janecke, with 4:19 remaining on the clock. During the third period, Seth Brandt lit the lamp with an unassisted goal. The J-Hawks fought back, scoring their first goal. With 7 seconds left in the game, the J-Hawks scored again. The Avalanche held on for the 3-2 win, though, claiming the consolation championship trophy.
