Mite team wins two

On Sunday, Dec. 16, the Monroe Peewee Avalanche team hosted Dodgeville and won 7-2.

Travis Edmunds was able to put Monroe on the board first after getting a pass from Jared Cline. Minutes later Cline scored Monroe's second goal. Monroe continued to apply the offensive pressure as Joe Wyss, Cammi Ganshert and Charlie Harris each scored goals to give Monroe a 5-2 lead heading into the final period.

Jayden Johnson continued his strong play in goal recording 13 saves. The game closed with Edmunds and Cline each adding a goal. Next week the team travels to Madison and Baraboo for games.



Mite White

The Avalanche Mite White played three games in Waunakee on Sunday, Dec. 16. All five Avalanche players participated in each game with no substitutions. They fell to Janesville in the first game 2-1. Blaze Janecke scored the lone Avalanche goal. Jack Leverton recorded 11 saves in goal.

The tide turned in favor of the Avalanche in the second and third games. Monroe defeated Middleton 5-2 in the second game. Janecke lit the lamp four times while Gavin Roth added one goal. Leverton recorded six saves in goal. The Avalanche shut out the Wildcats in the third game 5-0. Scoring for the Avalanche were Cash Anderson, Roth, and Janecke (three goals). Leverton recorded seven saves in goal.



Mite Blue

The Avalanche Mite Blue had two games at home on Sunday, Dec. 16.

The Avalanche dominated the game against the Patriots winning 6-2. Scoring for the Avalanche were Anna Malone (two goals), Seth Brandt (two goals), Lilah Bauer and Marlies Brandli.

The Avalanche easily defeated McFarland in the second game. Goalie Xander Obert earned a shut out 5-0. Scoring were Lilah Bauer (three goals), Malone and Brandt.
