SOUTH WAYNE - The accolades keep rolling in for Black Hawk senior running back Brody Milz.

Milz was named first-team Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-State at linebacker and honorable mention all-state at running back. Milz also was named the Six Rivers Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year. He was first-team all-conference at running back and linebacker.

Milz has rushed for 1,568 yards, 27 touchdowns, is averaging 120.6 yards per game and 9.6 yards per carry. On defense, Milz is the team's leading tackler at linebacker with 143 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 15 tackles for loss.

"Coming from a small school, it means a lot and it's an honor," Milz said. "I have worked really hard to be at the best of my game. I wouldn't be here without a lot of my teammates there. I wouldn't get the recognition if I was on a team that didn't win much. It's a great honor, and I'm proud."

He's looking to play football in college. Milz has been discussing college football opportunities with three Division III schools in the University of Wisconsin - UW-Whitewater, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Eau Claire - as well as Division II colleges Bemidji State University in Minnesota's north woods, the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota and Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota.

"I want to wait until after the season so I can talk to coaches more before I decide where I want to go," he said.
