MILTON - The Milton Redhawks scored a combined 10 unanswered runs over the first two innings to top the Brodhead Cardinals in a non-conference game Thursday. Junior Bri Hicks had a double and a triple and drove in two runs while sophomore Taylor Douglas went 2-for-3 to lead the Cardinals. Sophomore Amanda Pickel started in the pitching circle for Brodhead and gave up 11 hits with six walks and three strikeouts. Brodhead (0-1) will travel to McFarland for their Rock Valley South conference opener Tuesday.
