MONROE - Two Cheesemakers shot under 38, as the Monroe golf team grabbed a 24-stroke win over Monona Grove at the Monroe Country Club Friday, May 10.

Sophomore Matt Miller led Monroe with a match-best 33, and Eric Timm carded a 37 to lead the Cheesemakers past Monona Grove 153-177.

Miller shot par for every hole but one - the par-4 fifth - which he birdied. His score on Friday was 10 strokes better than the 43 he shot at the Monroe Country Club just two days prior against Fort Atkinson in better conditions.

Tanner Thompson finished third for the Cheesemakers with a 41, and Caleb Pagel (42) came in fourth.

Monona Grove's lowest score came from Eli Buffat, who carded a 41.

The Cheesemakers will travel to take on Madison Memorial on Monday, May 11.
