WHITEWATER - Kent Miehe, Darlington, is preparing with the rest of his University of Wisconsin-Whitewater cross country team for the championship portion of the season.
Miehe is a freshman mathematics major.
"We are going ahead with the goal of trying to equal last year's 6th place performance," said Jeff Miller, head coach of the UW-Whitewater men's and women's cross country teams. "The men have only one senior running, so the team has a lot of young runners who are gaining valuable experience this season," he said.
The WIAC Conference meet will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Cuba City. The NCAA III Midwest regional in Oshkosh on Saturday, Nov. 10, will determine which teams and individuals move on to the national cross country meet in Terra Haute, Ind.
