BELOIT — The Monroe Cheesemakers reached the 10-win mark for the season with a 6-1 win over Beloit Memorial in nonconference girls tennis on Sept. 16. The win marks three straight seasons of at least 10 wins for the Cheesemakers.
After Adeline Eckerman lost a very tough match to Lisa Ramsden of Beloit Memorial at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-1, the Cheesemakers took control winning at singles and doubles in straight sets.
Monroe is now 10-2 overall and hosted Delavan-Darien on Sept. 18 with this match counting as a conference dual. Monroe has already faced Delavan-Darien twice this season and Cheesemakers coach Matt Bordner noted that the Cheesemakers have had success against the Comets, but will still be a tough challenge.
“We already have defeated them 4-3 and 5-2 but we know that it’s a talented team that will be hungry to play. It should be an exciting match for both teams as we continue on with our conference schedule,” said Bordner.
