MONROE - The Cheesemakers finished seventh in its nine-team Best Ball Tournament Saturday at the Monroe Country Club.

In the meet, teams paired up two players and the best score among each two-some was kept on each hole.

Monroe's Kyle Bruce and Lucas Jordan combined for an 80, shooting a 38 on front nine and a 42 on the back. Teammates Caleb Pagel and Cameron Elmer shot a 90 and Dylon Wilde and Jessy Stagliano carded a 94.

Brodhead finished eighth. Jake Cole and Eric Wahl combined to shoot an 80. Kurtis Johnson and Brett Heitzman had a 97; Josh Strehlow and Tyler Welsh carded a 102.

Monona Grove's Colin Winistorfer and Kirby Halverson shot a tournament-best 72. McFarland won the meet with a total of 227 strokes. Oregon (237) edged Monona Grove (239) for second, Mount Horeb and Verona (249) were tied for fourth, one stroke ahead of Milton. Fort Atkinson did not finish.
