WATERTOWN - Lucas Schramm tossed a no-hitter in the second game to lead Watertown to a doubleheader sweep over Monroe Tuesday.

In the first game of the twinbill, Watertown rolled to a 13-0 win. In Game 2, the Goslings won 11-0. The Cheesemakers had a combined two hits in the doubleheader.

"We didn't even see their ace," Monroe coach Eric Losenegger said. "They are very good. They are right at the top of the conference and competing for a conference championship and a chance to go to state. They have a lot of good baseball players."

Schramm was dominant in the second game, striking out 10 in his no-hitter.

"His velocity was really good," Losenegger said. "We had trouble hitting anything. Any balls we put in play were soft and right at people."

With the two losses, Monroe drops to 1-11 overall and 0-8 in the Badger South Conference. The Cheesemakers committed nine errors combined in the two games. Monroe junior Trevor Meier pitched the second game and went 5 2/3 innings and gave up eight runs on 11 hits, while striking out four and walking three.

In the first game, the two singles by the Cheesemakers came from junior Dagon Rach in the fourth inning and senior John Fuller in the fifth. Watertown's Ryan Hayden tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out seven.

Monroe junior Jared Baugmartner pitched four innings and gave up 13 runs (eight earned) on 11 hits.
