MONROE - Monroe senior Brooke McBain was named first-team All-Badger South Conference girls basketball team recently.
McBain averaged 14.3 points per game and helped lead the Cheesemakers on a surprising run to the regional championship game, where the Cheesemakers lost 54-41 to Baraboo. The post player scored a game-high 18 points to help the Cheesemakers knock off top-seeded Monona Grove in the regional semifinal.
Monroe finished 7-18 overall and 3-9 in the Badger South.
Monroe junior Alex Barenklau earned honorable mention on the All-Badger South Conference boys squad.
The junior guard, averaged 12 points per game for the Cheesemakers, who finished 9-15 overall and 3-9 in the conference for sixth place.
