MONROE - Senior Monroe middle hitter Sydney Mathiason was named honorable mention Badger South All-Conference for her volleyball season this year.
It's the third straight year Mathiason has received honorable mention all-conference.
Mathiason racked up 236 kills, an average of 8.1 per match. She also posted 98 digs, 64 blocks and 39 aces on the season.
"I was a little disappointed," Monroe coach Heidi Witt said. "I thought she could have been second-team all-conference. Her stats were comparable to the girls who got first- and second-team all-conference. This is the first year she played the back row. She played all around for us and didn't come off the court much."
Watertown, which went 7-0 in the conference, won the Badger South title. The Goslings had five players named first- or second-team all-conference.
Monroe finished the season 12-17 and lost a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal match to Richland Center, 25-16, 25-19, 25-5.
