Mat Rats second at tourney

MONROE - The Monroe Mat rats finished second at the Pec-Argyle tournament on Sunday.

The Monroe Mat Rats were just five points shy of the first place trophy and had seven wrestlers take first place.

In the kindergarten through second grade first places went to Jack Dubach, Christian Schuh, and Brady Schuh. Second place went to Dayne Garwell and Allen Wand took third.

In the third and fourth grade divisions, Luke Dubach, Patrick Rielly and Bodie Minder took first. Aidan Sweeney and Max Patterson placed second, and Lukas Andersen took third place.

In the fifth through eighth grades Cole Murray placed first, Timothy Andersen and David Andrews took third and Wyatt Heimann finished fourth.

Other wrestles saw action this weekend. Max Haffele took first in the third and fourth grade division and Clayton Waski took fourth for kindergarten through second grade in Sun Prairie on Sunday.

On Saturday Bodie Minder, who wrestled up with fifth and sixth graders, took third in Marshall and Traiten Gorr placed second in the seventh and eighth grade brackets. McKenzy took second place in Iowa-Grant for the seventh and eighth grade brackets.
