This past weekend, Feb. 21-22, Monroe Mat Rats had four wrestlers participate in two tournaments in LaCrosse and Sauk Prairie.
On Feb. 21, Kevin Klopfenstein got invited to wrestle with the Southwest Gold Wrestling Team in LaCrosse. There were eight teams participating in this team dual tournament. Klopfenstein's team ended with a 3-1 record, winning the consolation side of the bracket. He finished with a 3-0 record for the tournament.
In Sauk Prairie, Dempzy Foley finished third in the third- and fourth-grade division. Trevor Gorr captured the championship and Aaron Hesgard took fourth in the seventh- and eighth-grade division.
