Mat Rats enjoy another good weekend

MONROE - Monroe's Mat Rats youth wrestling team had 27 kids participate in four different tournaments this past weekend - in Mount Horeb, Mukwonago, Mineral Point and Belleville.

Each tournament had more than 250 wrestlers attend, and the Muckwonago meet saw more than 500 participants.

In Mineral Point, the Mat Rats' Maxwell Haffele finished in first place in the kindergarten through second -grade division.

In Muckwonago, Sam Kind finished fifth in his bracket in the third- and fourth-grade division.

Traiten Gorr won the fifth- and sixth-grade division at the Mount Horeb meet.

Troy Gorr won the seventh- and eighth-grade division in Mount Horeb, with Tyler Davis and Kevin Knudtson coming in second place.

Hayden Arneson finished in second place in the third- and fourth-grade division and Kane Gunderson took fourth in the kindergarten- through second-grade bracket.

In Belleville, Dusty Burkhalter won the seventh- and eighth-grade division, with Kevin Klopfenstein (second) and Eric Timm (fourth) each earning honors in the same bracket.

Reave Lincoln won the fifth- and sixth-grade division, with Jacob Quinn and Terri Holmes each finishing second.

Cole Murry won first place in the third- and fourth-grade division. Dylan Scace took second and both Brayden Zettle and Thomas Rielly finished third in the division.

In the kindergarten through second-grade division, Mitchell Quinn, Tristan Teasdale and Maxwell Haffele each finished in first place.

Aidan Sweeney, Patrick Rielly and Colby Argall each finished in second place, with Braedon Malkow and Bodie Minder coming in third. Alex Witt and Nick Schumacher each took fourth place in the same division.
