MONROE - The Monroe Mat Rats racked up five division titles in wrestling tournaments at Mount Horeb and Evansville last weekend and the Brodhead Wrestling Club had seven individuals place first at Evansville.
The Mat Rats' Max Patterson, Patrick Rielly and Alex Witt all finished first in the Third/Fourth Grade Division at Mount Horeb while Brady Schuh (K/Second) and Cole Murray (Seventh/Eighth) took firsts at Evansville.
The Mat Rats' Lukas Anderson (Third/Fourth) finished second at Mount Horeb, while Aidan Sweeney (Third/Fourth) and Wyatt Heimann (Fifth/Sixth) each posted third-place finishes. Alex Wand (K/Second) and Max Haffele (Third/Fourth) both finished runner-up at Evansville while Christian Schuh (K/Second) placed third.
For Brodhead Wrestling Club, kindergartner Marcus McIntyre, first-graders Blake Doran, Taetum Hoesly and Jacob Lohmar, and second-graders Shyleigh Condon, Cole Hoesly and Brady Malkow all went 3-0 to finish first.
Lohmar and Malkow won all three matches via pins.
Second-place finishers for Brodhead included Brooks Malkow in the 4-Year-Old/Kindergarten Division, kindergartner Gunner Boegli (K), second-grader Gage Boegli, fourth-grader Josh Arnsmeier and seventh-grader Tyler Hoesly.
Third-place finishers for Brodhead included Isaac Zimmerman in 4/Kindergarten, kindergartner Nolan Oliver, second-graders Colton Buttke and Aaron Makos, third-grader Dominic Taylor and fifth-grader Jeffrey Williams.
