MOUNT HOREB - Pecatonica-Argyle's Wyatt Massey narrowly edged Brodhead-Juda's Tate Harnack and Waunakee's Brady Zimprich for sixth place at Saturday's Mount Horeb Viking Invitational.
All three runners shared a time of 18 minutes, 8 seconds during the 5-kilometer race.
Brodhead-Juda, which finished fifth as a team, had two more runners crack the top 30. Sophomore Dylan Johnson (18:45) was 17th and junior Dillon Larson (19:20) was 28th.
Cameron Colson finished the race next to Larson, placing 29th for Pec-Argyle.
Marcus Rubio (20:08) was 42nd for Pec-Argyle, just ahead of teammate Troy Farrell (20:21, 43rd). Carter Jorgenson (20:18, 42nd) and Justin Krumwiede (20:29, 22th) rounded out Brodhead-Juda's top five runners.
Pec-Argyle was ninth as a team.
On the girls side, Kendra Sigg of Pec-Argyle finished ninth overall in the 4-kilometer race with a time of 17:07.
Emma Marion (19:30) was 33rd for Pec-Arygle, and teammates Katie Dammen (19:30, 36th), Hannah Saalsaa (19:56, 37th) and Cora Demler (20:52, 41st) rounded out the Vikings' top five.
Brodhead-Juda's Morganne Goecks was the first Cardinal to cross the finish line, coming in 13th overall with a time of 17:39.
Camilla Klar (18:56, 29th), Jacque Conway (19:12, 30th), Alena Schoeller (20:40, 40th) and Katie Ryser (21:20, 44th) capped Brodhead-Juda's top five.
