MARSHALL - The New Glarus girls basketball team was no match for Marshall as the Cardinals rolled to a 74-34 win over the Glarner Knights Friday.
Marshall (11-2, 2-0 Capitol South) had four players reach double figures led by Danyelle Gumz, who scored a game-high 19 points. The Cardinals raced out to a 23-1 lead against the Knights in the first quarter and cruised. Marshall outscored New Glarus 24-6 in the third quarter.
New Glarus junior Tamara Elzen scored a team-high 10 points. Vanessa Narveson added seven points for the Knights.
New Glarus (5-8, 1-1) made 11 of 15 free throws, but was limited to just 10 field goals.
